2021 New Zealand Cause Report
The 2021 New Zealand Cause Report from JB Were is a reference resource for Aotearoa New Zealand’s multidimensional charitable and broader for-purpose sector.
The report takes an in-depth sector wide view. It provides an analysis of the environment in which charities and other not-for-profit organisations operate. It also comments on the impact of the covid disruptions on the sector in 2020-21.
This sector is significant:
- The for-purpose sector is worth $12.1b – and contributes 4.2% NZ’s total GDP (2018), including $4.0b volunteer labour. In relative terms the sector is on par with the size of Agriculture industry and close to the size of the Retail trade and Transport, postal, and warehousing industries.
