2025 Internet Insights

Recent research from InternetNZ | Ipurangi Aotearoa shows not all experiences are equal when it comes to the Internet.

Their 2025 annual survey showed Māori, Pacific peoples and people with disabilities have different perceptions of and experiences of online life.

Other data supports their findings with around 400,000 households lacking meaningful digital access. The barrier is often the cost of devices and connections resulting in quite significant digital inequity in Aotearoa New Zealand, despite the growing importance of the digital world on our lives.
