Big Password Energy
Having Big Password Energy is all about being cyber confident and capable by making sure your devices and online accounts are protected with long, strong and unique passwords.
One of the easiest ways to do this is creating passphrases – that’s a string of four or more random words. This makes passwords that are easy to remember but hard for cyber attackers to crack.
CERT NZ's campaign - Big Password Energy - is focussed on getting New Zealander's to:
- Create a password that is a string of four or more random words (that’s a passphrase)
- Avoid using personal information in passwords, like street or pet’s name
- Use a different password on each account. That can sound tricky, so start with your most important accounts, link bank, email and social media.
